Cotswold Line Re Doubling

66186 and 66055 top and tail a rake of ballast wagons on the Cotswold line near Mickleton Tunnel or Campden Tunnel as it is known now. This is laying ballast in aid of the re-doubling of the Cotswold Line. The line is currently shut for 6 weeks with a possession between Evesham and Moreton in Marsh. The train is seen crawling towards Evesham on the early evening of 7 August 09.

I then stopped off at Ashchurch on the way home from work and captured a Cross Country HST and Freightliner 66527 on a coal train.

Toton & Shackerstone

The last time I visited Toton was approximately 8 years ago, I popped in to have a quick look from the bank and took some shots. I couldn't get over the amount of class 60's there were lined up.

Then we decided to visit Shackerstone briefly to look at the museum on the station. It took over an hour to find the place as the signs weren't brilliant - we arrived to find that it was Thomas The Tank weekend and the platform full of screeming kids...
